Matthew Lacorcia, PhD, is a multidisciplinary researcher currently undertaking his second doctoral thesis within the AG da Costa within its focus on Infection and Immunity in Global Health. With previous research experience in Australia, within both inflammatory disease and the field of Culture and Communication, he brings a unique approach to the projects run by the group. His current research interests focus on the transgenerational effects of infection, with a particular focus on the effects of maternal infection during pregnancy. He applies alternative approaches to studying the persistence of immunological memory, specifically as relate to the modulation of responses leading to allergy and immune disease.
