Reka Kugyelka was born in Pecs, Hungary. She completed her studies in Chemistry (B. Sc.) and Medical Biotechnology (M. Sc.), specializing in cell and tissue technology. Reka received her PhD in Immunology at the University of Pecs, where she investigated the role of T cell signalling strength in the development of autoimmune arthritis in a murine model.
After moving to Germany and working for a year in the field of cancer immunotherapy, she joined the lab in February, 2021, as a postdoctoral researcher. Reka enjoys climbing, trail running, and watercolor painting.
